ESG were contracted to carry out the coach stripping, design of the system integration into the coach, fitment of the system within a very tight timescale and to liaise with all suppliers to bring the project to it’s conclusion. Certification of the vehicle to meet RSSB Group Standards was undertaken by Railway Approvals Limited (RAL). First the coach had to have the existing seats, tables, carpet, dado and window panels removed. Next 2km of LAN and single core cables were installed to provide data and power to each seat location and allow future expansion of the system
The heart of the ITES is housed in a purpose built rack (adjacent photo) comprising server, GPS/GSM transceivers, patch panels, network switches, UPS, and mcb’s. the housing was designed to create a fireproof enclosure to meet the latest RSSB Group Standards. To ensure reliability of the equipment, the housing is fitted with an extractor fan, which maintains an optimal temperature. |
