| ISO |
|
| ESG operates a formally documented Quality Management System,
fully accredited to ISO9001: 2000 (Certificate Number FS70629), to support its engineering
consultancy services. We are committed to the highest possible
standards of corporate governance and operating our business
in a sustainable and responsible manner. |
 |
| At the head of our Quality System is our Quality
Policy and Objectives, giving you the promise of a consistent,
structured and professional approach to providing cost-effective
solutions to your business requirements. |
| ESG's ISO9001 system provides support for the complete work
cycle, from the moment an enquiry is received, to the last
item of feedback received on job completion and beyond into
the internal review activities that drive the continual improvement
process. |
| The work of ESG is governed by UK/European Legislation and
Industry Regulations covering railway vehicle engineering.
Many of these are in the form of Railway Group Standards,
issued by RSSB. Therefore, the quality system takes into account
all applicable requirements as part of the complete package
of services to you. |
| Typical Job Profile |
|
|
- Upon initial contact, a clearly defined, structured
system is followed, ensuring that, as a customer, all
your requirements are identified. This includes identification
of appropriate resources for the proposed work and an
agreeable timescale, price and payment profile. All this
is confirmed to you on a Project Agreement Form, which
is signed prior to work commencement. The Technical Services
Manager will be your lead contact during this phase.
- Upon commencement of work, one of our Consultant Engineers
will be assigned as the main point of contact and will
keep in regular contact with you during work progression.
- We strongly recommend that, for all but the simplest
of jobs, a series of Contract Reviews are established
at which progress with the work, including compliance
with agreed timescales can be discussed.
- Any significant alterations to the work, either in content
and timescales, are highlighted with you at the earliest
possible opportunity and a contract variation (in the
form of a renewed Project Agreement Form) agreed to support
further work on the project.
- Final delivery of the agreed output is always subject
of review with you. This is your opportunity to provide
feedback to us (good or bad!) which will be fed into our
internal review processes to support further improvements
to our services to you for the future.

| Quality Policy/Objectives and Continuous
Improvement |
|
|
| The
Quality Policy gives a statement of commitment to continual
improvement of the effectiveness of the quality management
system. The strategy for achieving this is through a continuous
cycle of identifying customer requirements, provision of appropriate
resources, measurement/monitoring of effectiveness/efficiency
of processes and seeking customer feedback as to perception
of service received. |
| Quality Objectives are set, measurable (consistent
with Quality Policy), and reviewed at management reviews.
Quality Objectives provide the link between the statement
of intent on quality and the individual processes that make
up the Quality System. Objectives are subject to periodic
review to ensure that they remain pertinent in considering
the current and future needs of ESG and its customers. |
| Continuous improvement is sought proactively, so
that both effectiveness and efficiency of the quality management
system and product are steadily improved. Where possible,
improvements are undertaken based on objective measurement
and assessment of performance. |
 |
| We believe that continual investment into our business
in this manner ultimately brings you cost efficiency and added
value to your business. Your continual strength ensures our
continual survival. |
